air fryer french bread
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of French bread
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional for cheesy garlic bread)
Method:
To make the Garlic Butter, place the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl and stir until thoroughly blended. Stir the Parmesan cheese into the butter mixture if using it.
Get the French bread ready.
Using a longitudinal cut, separate the French bread loaf into two long halves.
Evenly cover the cut sides of both bread halves with the garlic butter mixture.
Cheese Addition (Optional):
When cooking cheesy garlic bread, evenly distribute shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese over the garlic butter.
Warm up the air fryer.
For around three minutes, preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Air-Fry the Bread:
- Place the cut side of one half of the bread into the air fryer basket. The size of your air fryer will determine whether you need to air cook the bread in batches.
- The bread should air fry for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it is crispy around the edges and golden brown. If cheese is being used, air fried it until it melts and becomes bubbly.
- Slice the bread into smaller pieces after taking it out of the air fryer and allowing it to cool for a minute.
- Serve hot French bread from the air fryer as an appetiser or side dish.
Note: This Air Fryer French Bread is a simple, fast recipe that’s ideal for last-minute cravings for a warm, crispy side dish. Rich flavour is enhanced by the garlic butter, and it is made much better with the cheese choice. For a filling dinner, serve it with spaghetti, salads, or soups!
