INGREDIENTS
- One pound of lean ground beef;
- one clove of minced garlic;
- one finely diced green bell pepper;
- one seasoned bread crumb;
- one onion*, finely diced (see note);
- two tablespoons of milk;
- two tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese;
- one tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley;
- one egg yolk;
- one clove of minced garlic;
- one teaspoon of Italian seasoning;
- one teaspoon of salt and pepper to taste;
- toppings;
- one cup of tomato sauce;
- one cup of chili sauce.
Guidelines
- Set air fryer temperature to 350°F.
- In a large basin, stir together all the meatloaf ingredients just until incorporated.
- Split the mixture in half, then form each half into a small meatloaf that is about 5″ long by 2″ wide.
- Cook for twenty minutes in the air fryer.
- In a small bowl, combine topping ingredients. When the meatloaf reaches 165°F, add the topping and continue cooking for another five to seven minutes.
- Give it five minutes to rest before serving.
NOTES
- Fry the onion in 1 tablespoon butter until cooked for a softer onion flavor. Let cool fully before incorporating.
- Mix the meat just until incorporated; do not overmix.
- Before you add the meatloaf, preheat the air fryer.
- Make sure you use an instant read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the meatloaf and make sure it reaches 165° F. Air fryers can vary in this regard.
- To make sure the meatloaf doesn’t overcook, check it early. As needed, extend the duration.
- Before slicing, give the meatloaf a rest to prevent it from crumbling.
