Dirty Rice with Ground Beef

This dish is a hearty, spicy, flavorful delight, with savory ground beef, aromatic vegetables, tender rice, paprika’s smokiness, thyme’s herbal depth, cayenne’s subtle kick and garlic’s warmth. Simmered to perfection, all the flavours meld to create a classic dish which satisfies hunger and warms the soul. This one-pot wonder is easy to make and perfect for weeknights or gatherings!

Ingredients:
• 1 lb (450g) ground beef🥩
• 1 cup white rice (long grain or jasmine)🍚
• 2 cups chicken broth🍲
• 1 onion, finely chopped🧅
• 1 bell pepper, finely chopped🫑
• 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced🧄
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
• Salt and pepper to taste🧂
• 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
• Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare Rice
• Cook white rice using chicken broth (instead of water).
• Set aside once cooked.
Step 2: Cook Beef
• Heat olive oil in large skillet (medium-high).
• Add ground beef; cook until browned.
• Drain excess fat.
Step 3: Sauté Vegetables
• Add onion, bell pepper, celery; cook until soft (5-7 minutes).
• Stir in garlic; cook 1-2 minutes.
Step 4: Season Mixture
• Sprinkle paprika, thyme, cayenne, salt, pepper.
• Stir well.
Step 5: Combine/Simmer
• Add cooked rice; mix with beef/vegetable mixture.
• Pour in remaining chicken broth.
• Reduce heat (low); simmer 10 minutes.
Step 6: Serve
• Remove from heat.
• Garnish with green onions and parsley.
