muffins
In light of the fact that it being the week of half term, I felt it would be appropriate to re-post the recipe for my duffins that I had previously posted on this site. Extremely simple, inexpensive, and a fun activity for the children to participate in!
I have used the air fryer to prepare a lot of savoury dishes, but I have never used it to make sweet baked products. However, being a baker, I thought I would give it a shot and see what happens. This dish is ideal for a weekend activity that you can undertake with your children. They are not quite a doughnut and not quite a muffin; rather, they are a duffin or a muffnut, depending on your preference. They are fantastic in the air fryer, and I am genuinely astonished at how beautifully they baked!
(This recipe yields six muffins)
Components
- One egg
- 60 ml of Milk
- 40 melilites of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of essence of vanilla bean
- caster sugar, 75 grams
- Fifty grams of self-raising flour
- Regarding the filling and the topping
- Jamming
- It’s Nutella.
- 20 grams of butter that has been melted
- Grains of sugar, twenty grams
Approach
- Paper covers should be used to line your silicone cupcake cases; however, you can just use the silicone cases without any lining.
- Put the oil, milk, vanilla, and egg into a bowl, and then use a hand mixer (or a hand whisk) to combine the ingredients until they have a creamy consistency. The sugar and flour should be added, and the mixture should be mixed briefly until it is just blended. If you overmix at this point, you will create gluten, which will destroy the fluffiness of the dough.
- Every cupcake case should have one tablespoon of your batter mix added to it. After that, add one teaspoon of the filling of your choice, which might be jam or Nutella; either one works well. In order to prevent your duffin from splitting, you should make an effort to keep the filling in the middle of the batter.
- Use the remaining batter to add an additional spoonful of batter on top of the filling that you have just prepared.
- Put your muffins in your air fryer and bake them for 17 minutes at a temperature of 160 degrees under the bake setting. There is no need to preheat the air fryer.
- Don’t take a peek at them since they can fall out of the drawer if you open it too quickly.
- Following the completion of the baking process, while the cakes are still warm, brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle them with sugar. Let them cool down for a short while because the filling can be hot, but eat them while they are still warm.
