These homemade pizza pockets are a fun and delicious way to enjoy a classic pizza in a portable form. Whether you prefer a traditional pepperoni and cheese filling or a broccoli and cheddar twist, these pizza pockets are perfect for a quick meal or snack.
Ingredients
For Classic Pizza Pockets:
- 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 oz pepperoni slices
- 4 oz can sliced black olives, drained
For Broccoli & Cheddar Cheese Pizza Pockets
- 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
- ¾ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 ½ cups finely chopped broccoli (12 oz frozen bag, thawed)
Method:
- Get the dough ready:
The pizza dough should be divided in half on a surface dusted with flour. Each half should yield four slices, for a total of eight slices.
- Put Together the Traditional Pizza Pockets:
Drizzle each piece of dough with half of the pizza sauce.
Add the black olives, pepperoni pieces, and mozzarella cheese.
After folding the dough over to cover the toppings, seal the edges by pressing them with your fingers or a fork. To let the steam out, make a few little slits on top.
- Put the Broccoli and Cheddar Pizza Pockets together:
Olive oil should be brushed over the dough pieces before adding Italian spice.
- Combine the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses with the chopped broccoli in a basin.
As with the traditional version, spread the broccoli mixture over half of each piece of dough, then fold and seal. Score the top a few of times.
Cook the Pizza Pockets by Air:
- For three minutes, preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Either use parchment paper or a little amount of oil to coat the air fryer basket.
- Pizza pockets should be arranged in the air fryer basket in a single layer. The size of your air fryer will determine whether you need to cook them in batches.
- Cook in the air fryer for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the crust is cooked through and golden brown. Turn once while cooking to provide even browning.
- To serve, take the pizza pockets out of the air fryer and allow them to cool a little bit.
