Hunter’s chicken

Hunter’s chicken cooked in an air fryer takes less than twenty-five minutes to make.

What You’ll Need: Hunters Chicken for Air Fryer
The ingredients listed here may be adjusted to produce as many servings as needed to make two servings of hunters chicken.

You may use boneless chicken thighs instead of the chicken breast that I used. Use one chicken breast per person; however, since chicken thighs are often smaller, you may need to use two.

Barbecue Sauce
You may either prepare your own BBQ sauce or use store-bought. Every chicken breast received three teaspoons of BBQ sauce from me. Depending on the size of the chicken and your taste, you may use more or less.

Cheese Any readily melted cheese will do. I grated a good amount of cheddar cheese, but you may also use gouda, parmesan, mozzarella, etc.

Hunter’s Chicken Prepared in an Air Fryer
After putting the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket at 190°C/375°F, set a 10-minute timer.

You may only be able to fit two in your air fryer basket at a time if it is tiny.

After five minutes, turn the chicken over.

Once the chicken breasts have cooked for ten minutes, remove them with tongs or a fork and wrap each one in one or two bacon rashers. You may use a cocktail stick to hold the rashers in place.

Place the chicken wrapped in bacon back in the air fryer basket and cook for a further 10 minutes, rotating it halfway through.

Once the cooking time has elapsed, open the air fryer basket and generously coat each chicken breast with barbecue sauce.

Over the BBQ sauce, scatter the grated cheese.

Fry for an additional two to three minutes, or until the barbecue sauce is hot and the cheese has melted.

Take out of the air fryer, and if using cocktail sticks, take them out as well. Using a meat thermometer or a knife, make sure the chicken is cooked through.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 chicken breasts (1 chicken breast per person)
  2. 4 rashers of bacon (1 or 2 per chicken piece)
