Mexican Shrimp Cocktail Recipe

Components:

Regarding the Shrimp:

  1. One pound of big, peeled and deveined shrimp
  2. One spoonful of salt
  3. half a lemon, squeezed
  4. Regarding the Cocktail Sauce:
  5. One cup of ketchup
  6. half a cup of juiced tomatoes
  7. About two limes, or 1/4 cup, of lime juice
  8. 2 tablespoons spicy sauce, or more according to taste
  9. One spoonful of sauce from Worcestershire
  10. One tablespoon of freshly cut cilantro
  11. half a teaspoon of cumin powder
  12. To taste, add salt and pepper.

Extra Ingredients:

  • one cup of cucumbers, chopped
  • one cup of avocado diced
  • 1/2 cup of red onion, chopped finely
  • half a cup of freshly chopped cilantro
  • One jalapeño, chopped finely (optional for added heat)
  • slices of lime, as a garnish

Guidelines:

1. Get the shrimp ready:

  • Heat the water in a big pot until it boils. Add the lemon juice and salt.
  • When the shrimp are pink and opaque, add them and simmer for another two to three minutes. Take care not to cook them too much.
  • To halt the frying process, remove the shrimp using a slotted spoon and place them in a bowl of icy water. After allowing them to cool, drain and pat dry.

2. Get the cocktail sauce ready.

  • Add the spicy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chopped cilantro, ground cumin, tomato juice, lime juice, ketchup, and salt and pepper to a mixing bowl. Blend thoroughly.

3. Put the Cocktail Together:

  • Toss the cooked shrimp with the diced avocado, diced cucumber, chopped red onion, chopped cilantro, and jalapeño (if using) in a big bowl.
  • Mix everything thoroughly with the cocktail sauce, folding it in gently.

4. Cool and Present:

  • To allow the flavors to mingle, cover the bowl and chill the shrimp cocktail for at least half an hour.
  • Present the chilled shrimp cocktail beside lime wedges for you to squeeze over.

Advice:

  • Additional garnishes: You can also add chopped tomatoes or sliced radishes.
  • Modifying Heat: You can cut back on or leave out the jalapeño and hot sauce if you’d like a softer drink.
  • Bright and tasty, this Mexican Shrimp Cocktail is ideal for a summertime day or any occasion that calls for a light seafood dish!
