Italian Sub Sliders
Components
- Twelve soft dinner rolls, either Hawaiian or otherwise
Sliced deli chicken, half a pound - Sliced salami, half a pound
- Sliced pepperoni, half a pound
- Sliced provolone cheese, half a pound
- 1/4 cup of optionally sliced banana peppers
- 1/4 cup of optionally sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
- One spoonful of mustard dijon
- One spoonful of seasoning from Italy
- Two tsp olive oil
- One tablespoon of melted butter
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)
Guidelines
Warm up the oven:
- Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
Get the slider rolls ready:
- Cut the whole batch of rolls in half lengthwise, being careful to leave the top and bottom parts joined.
Create the Spread:
- Combine the Italian seasoning, Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise in a small bowl.
Put the Sliders Together:
- Over the sliced sides of the buns, equally distribute the mayonnaise mixture.
- On the bottom half of the buns, arrange the chicken, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, banana peppers, and olives.
Above the Sliders:
- Reposition the upper portion of the rollers. Drizzle the rolls with the melted butter and olive oil mixture.
Cook:
- The completed sliders should be put on a baking pan. Bake, covered with aluminum foil, for fifteen to twenty minutes. When the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown, remove the foil and continue baking for a further five to ten minutes.
Serve:
- Take out of the oven and give it a few minutes to cool. If preferred, top with fresh parsley and slice into individual sliders. Warm up and serve.
Advice:
- You are welcome to add your own ingredients, such as spinach or roasted red peppers, to personalize the toppings.
- You may prepare these sliders in advance and bake them right before serving!
