Popular in Turkish cuisine, Turkish bread, also called “pide” or “Turkish pide,” is a traditional flatbread. It is frequently eaten on its own or used to make kebabs and sandwiches. This is a basic recipe that you may make at home for Turkish bread:

Components

Regarding the Dough:

  1. Four cups of all-purpose flour
  2. One spoonful of sugar
  3. One tsp of dry active yeast
  4. One-tsp salt and one-cup warm water
  5. one-fourth cup olive oil
  6. Regarding the Optional Topping:

Instructions for using nigella or sesame seeds

1. Get the Yeast Going:

  • Put the sugar and warm water in a small bowl. Until the sugar dissolves, stir.
  • After dispersing the yeast over the water, leave it for five to ten minutes, or until foamy.

2. Prepare the Dough:

  • Flour and salt should be combined in a large mixing dish.
Create a well in the middle and add the olive oil and activated yeast mixture.
  • Work the dough until it comes together.

3. Work the Dough:

  • After transferring the dough to a floured surface, knead it for 8 to 10 minutes, or until it gets elastic and smooth. If more flour is required, add it to avoid sticking.

4. Initially Rising:

  • After putting the dough in a bowl that has been lightly greased and covering it with a damp cloth, let it rise in a warm location for one to two hours, or until it has doubled in size.

5. Get the Air Fryer ready:

  • Start the air fryer at 450°F, or 230°C. Put your pizza stone in the air fryer to preheat it if you have one.

6. Form the Dough:

  • The risen dough should be pounded down and divided into two equal parts.
  • Roll each part into a 1/2-inch-thick oval or rectangular shape.

7. The Second Ascent

  • Arrange the formed dough onto a heated pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Give it ten to fifteen minutes to rise.

8. Optional Topping:

  • Lightly coat the dough’s surface with olive oil and scatter either sesame or nigella seeds on top.

9. Cook:

  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bread is cooked through and golden brown, in an air fryer that has been prepared

10. Let cool and proceed to serve:

  • When slicing and serving, let the Turkish bread cool for a few minutes.
  • Savour your homemade Turkish bread as an accompaniment to your preferred Turkish cuisine or with spreads or dips.
