These air fryer-fried green tomatoes make a great snack, or you can use them as a topping for an air fryer hamburger to enhance the flavour of summer.

Components

  1. three to four green tomatoes
  2. Half a teaspoon of salt
  3. half a cup of flour
  4. two eggs
  5. one-third cup cornmeal
  6. one-third cup of breadcrumbs
  7. 1/8 tsp paprika
  8. A pinch of cayenne pepper is optional.

Guidelines

  • Cut the green tomatoes into quarter-inch pieces and sprinkle with a lot of salt. For at least five minutes, let it sit.
  • Place the flour in one bowl, the egg (whiskered) in the second, and the cornmeal, breadcrumbs, paprika, and cayenne pepper in the third bowl to create a breading station.
  • Using a paper towel, pat dry the green tomato slices.
  • Set air fryer temperature to 380 degrees.
  • Make sure the tomato slices are completely coated by dipping them in the flour, egg, and cornmeal mixture in that order.
  • Put them in the air fryer in a single layer and cook for seven to nine minutes, turning them over and misting them with oil midway.
  • Take out of the air fryer and serve with your preferred dipping sauce, or allow it to cool fully before freezing it for up to three months.
