Cowboy Meat and Potato Casserole

Cowboy Meat and Potato Casserole

There is something for everyone in this dish. This casserole definitely reminded me of Shepherd’s Pie when I first heard about it. Not sure why I thought of it, as it was two completely different meals. The mashed potatoes could be the cause.

Components

  1. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  2. cup of bread crumbs, dry
  3. Lean ground beef pound
  4. Choose a ¼ cup. Sauce for barbecue
  5. two teaspoons of chilli powder
  6. One-half teaspoon of salt
  7. One beaten egg
  8. Sweet potatoes
  9. One package of instant mashed potato mix with butter flavour
  10. Half a cup of condensed milk
  11. One tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  12. One tablespoon of butter
  13. One teaspoon of garlic powder
  14. One cup of cooked, broken-up bacon
  15. 1/4 cup of crunchy, fried onions
  16. Half a cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

  • Initially,
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly coat a 9 by 9 baking pan.
  • Ground beef, onion, barbecue sauce, bread crumbs, egg, and seasonings should all be combined in a big bowl.
  • Press the meat mixture into the bottom of the sprayed pan in the second step.
  • Bake for 20 minutes without cover.
  • Third Step: Take out of the oven and carefully drain off any grease.
  • Prepare the instant potatoes in a separate bowl and stir in the cheese, dried onions, butter, bacon, and evaporated milk.

  • FIFTH STEP: If desired, serve with an extra portion of barbecue sauce.
