Air Fryer Cheese Straws
Air fryer puff pastry garlic cheese twists with parmesan and mozzarella create a great side dish or appetizer. Making cheese twists from home is very simple. Cheese straws prepared with puff pastry from scratch taste so much better than those from the supermarket.
Ingredients:
- 2 puff pastry sheets
- 1/2 Cup butter, melted
- 8 Ounces mozzarella cheese, block
- 2 Tablespoons parmesan , grated
- 1 Teaspoon basil, dried
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 Teaspoon sea salt , flakes
- 1/2 Teaspoon paprika
- 1 Tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 Cup marinara sauce, for dipping
Guidelines:
- Thaw the puff pastry fully before beginning.
- Set the air fryer’s temperature to 375 degrees.
- Unroll the puff pastry onto a wooden cutting board after lightly flouring it.
- Slice the pastry into 1-inch pieces.
- Cut mozzarella into ¼-inch pieces.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine together melted butter, Parmesan, chopped garlic, dried basil, and sea salt. Blend well.
- Apply butter mixture to pastry.
- Place a layer of mozzarella in the middle of each pastry strip.
- Tightly twist to enclose the cheese.
- Brush butter over the pastry twists. Give each strip a half-inch gap when arranging in the air fryer basket so that they are in a single layer.
- Simmer for seven minutes.
- Garnish the strips with chopped basil and serve them with marinara for dipping.
