Components
- three to four green tomatoes
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- half a cup of flour
- two eggs
- one-third cup cornmeal
- one-third cup of breadcrumbs
- 1/8 tsp paprika
- A pinch of cayenne pepper is optional.
Guidelines
- Cut the green tomatoes into quarter-inch pieces and sprinkle with a lot of salt. For at least five minutes, let it sit.
- Place the flour in one bowl, the egg (whiskered) in the second, and the cornmeal, breadcrumbs, paprika, and cayenne pepper in the third bowl to create a breading station.
- Using a paper towel, pat dry the green tomato slices.
- Set air fryer temperature to 380 degrees.
- Make sure the tomato slices are completely coated by dipping them in the flour, egg, and cornmeal mixture in that order.
- Put them in the air fryer in a single layer and cook for seven to nine minutes, turning them over and misting them with oil midway.
- Take out of the air fryer and serve with your preferred dipping sauce, or allow it to cool fully before freezing it for up to three months.
