Try this wonderful KFC-style chicken meal made with an Air Fryer for a delicious takeaway experience on your Saturday night! With a lot more convenience and less oil, this handmade fried chicken has a crispy outside and a juicy, tender interior, perfectly emulating KFC’s signature taste. This recipe is so flavourful and easy to make that it will quickly become your go-to for fakeaway nights.

Components:

For the marinated chicken:

  1. Two pounds of bone-in, skin-on chicken parts, either from the legs, thighs, or breasts
  2. One cup of buttermilk
  3. One tablespoon of spicy sauce (optional for more oomph)
  4. one tsp powdered garlic
  5. One tsp powdered onion
  6. One tsp of paprika
  7. One-half teaspoon each of salt and black pepper

Regarding the Breading

  1. : One cup of flour for all purposes
  2. 1 cup breadcrumbs from Panko
  3. One tablespoon of paprika
  4. one tsp powdered garlic
  5. One tsp powdered onion
  6. A single tsp of dried thyme
  7. One tsp of dried basil
  8. Half a teaspoon each of salt and black pepper
  9. One tsp baking powder
  10. For frying: cooking spray, ideally with canola or olive oil

Guidelines:

Give the chicken a marinade. Mix the marinade.

  • Ingredients: Combine the buttermilk, spicy sauce (if using), paprika, onion, garlic, and black pepper in a big bowl or zip-top bag.
  • Chicken marinated: Make sure the chicken pieces are completely submerged in the marinade before adding them. For optimal effects, cover and refrigerate for at least one hour, or even overnight.

2. Get the breading ready:

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: Place the flour, panko breadcrumbs, paprika, onion, garlic, and dried thyme powders, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and baking powder in a big shallow dish.
