air fryer philly cheesesteak calzones

air fryer philly cheesesteak calzones These Air Fryer Cheesesteak Philly Calzones are incredible! I created a real steak and cheese calzone for my family’s supper today because I’m from Philadelphia and have been wanting to do so for a while!

Ingredients:

  1. One pound of homemade or store-bought pizza dough
  2. One tablespoon of olive oil
  3. One pound of thinly cut ribeye
  4. One sliced onion
  5. One big green bell pepper, cut thinly
  6. Two cups of cheese, provolone or white cheddar
  7. One tsp Italian Seasoning, optional for garnishing
    Not required
  8. To serve, marinara sauce

Guidelines:

  1. Roll your dough on a surface that has been lightly floured if you are using handmade dough. Use a biscuit cutter to cut the dough into little calzones, or cut enough dough to surround the filling.
  2. Make the filling for the calzone in a large frying pan: Incorporate one tablespoon of olive oil and adjust the temperature to medium-high. Add the onions, peppers, and steak to the hot oil and sauté until everything is cooked through. Stir often.
  3. Next, fill the centre of the calzone with your filling, being sure to leave space around the edges so you can fold it over and seal the edges. Top with a sprinkling of cheese.
  4. Over the calzone, fold the dough. Seal the edges with your fingertips or the tines of a fork. If you find that the edges are not sealing, use small drops of water.
  5. Apply cooking or olive oil spray to the basket or tray of your air fryer. After positioning the tray inside the air fryer, place your calzone on it.
  6. You have two options: apply an egg wash or cook spray to the tops.
  7. For five minutes, set your thermostat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Flip after 5 minutes and cook for a further 2 to 4 minutes. Ensure that it has cooked through.

Use Refrigerator Pizza Crust Dough

In the dairy department of your neighbourhood supermarket, you have undoubtedly noticed the rolls of canned pizza dough (In America).

It arrives precisely prepared and already the right thickness. You only need to open the packaging to be ready for your fillings.
