This recipe for Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp is really simple and tastes much better than regular shrimp! With their spicy Bang Bang sauce coating, these crispy prawns that have been battered and ‘fried’ are likely to become a regular meal in your home.

I adore using my air fryer to make these delicious prawns.

This is a very simple recipe that you can make quickly with just a few basic ingredients.

Components

  1. Breading and seasoning prawns
  2. Twenty-five prawns
  3. One egg
  4. one cup of milk
  5. 1/4 cup of whole-wheat flour
  6. Pork breadcrumbs, ½ cup
  7. One-half teaspoon of red pepper
  8. ½ teaspoon of black pepper, ground
  9. One-half teaspoon of onion powder
  10. One-half teaspoon of powdered garlic
  11. One-half teaspoon of dried basil
  12. 1 tablespoon of spray-on olive oil
  13. Sauce with a Bang
  14. ½ cup mayonnaise
  15. Four tsp of chilli garlic sauce
  16. One-half teaspoon of rice vinegar

Guidelines

  • After carefully cleaning the shrimp, pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, spices, and panko bread crumbs. Blend thoroughly.
  • Combine the egg and milk in a small mixing dish and whisk to blend well.
  • The prawns are dipped in three different mixtures: flour and panko, egg and flour again.
  • Once done, place the coated shrimp on a cooling rack and repeat with the remaining shrimp.
  • After all of the prawns have been coated, put the rack of breaded prawns in the fridge to chill for half an hour.
  • Prepare the hot sauce while the prawns are cooling. In a small bowl, combine the rice vinegar, chilli garlic sauce, and mayo. Blend until well blended.
  • The air fryer should be preheated to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, or 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Put the prawns in the air fryer basket in a single layer and give them a quick mist of olive oil. So that the hot air may circulate evenly, give the prawns in the basket some space between them.
  • The prawns should be air-fried for 5 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). After that, they should be carefully flipped, lightly sprayed with olive oil and cooked for a further 3 to 5 minutes, or until they have a crispy coating and are golden brown. If necessary, cook the prawns in batches.
  • The prawns should be carefully taken out of the air fryer basket and placed in a shallow basin.
  • To coat the prawns, take 1/4 cup of the hot sauce and add it to the bowl. Keep the remaining hot sauce aside for dipping.
  • Serve right away.
