METHOD:

  • Toast pecans or walnuts over medium to high heat, stirring them every so often so they don’t burn. Heat for four to five minutes, then move to a cutting board and chop into large pieces.
  • Cut the broccoli into small pieces, grate the carrot, chop the apple, and cut the onion into thin slices. Put all of these ingredients into a salad bowl. Toast the nuts and add the dried cranberries or raisins.
