- 2 slices of bread (your choice)
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or sliced
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

- Prepare the chicken: • Cook, slice, or shred the chicken breast if you haven’t previously. You may prepare it fresh or with leftovers. To taste, add salt and pepper for seasoning.
- Put the Sandwich Together:
- On one side of every bread piece, spread a thin coating of marinara sauce.
- On one piece of bread, arrange the shredded chicken on top of the sauce.
- Top the chicken with a sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- For added taste, you may optionally sprinkle garlic powder and dried basil over the cheese.
- Place the last bread piece on top, sauce side down.
- Prepare the Sandwich:
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil in a pan over medium heat. If you want a crispier crust, feel free to use extra.
- Put the sandwich in the pan and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until the cheese has melted and the bread is golden brown. For even grilling, use a spatula to gently press down.
