Chocolate Cobbler
Components:
Regarding the Batter:
- One cup of flour for all purposes
- 1 cup of sugar, granulated
- 1/2 cup of cocoa powder without sugar
- two tsp powdered baking
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- half a cup of milk
- Half a cup of melted unsalted butter
- One tsp vanilla essence
Regarding the Topping:
- One cup of dense brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of cocoa powder without sugar
- two cups of steaming water
Guidelines:
Warm up the oven:
- Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and coat a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with oil.
Get the batter ready:
- Mix the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt in a big mixing dish.
- Pour in the milk, vanilla essence, and melted butter. Blend until barely mixed.
Transfer the batter:
- Fill the baking dish with the batter, spreading it evenly.
Prepare the Topping:
- Combine the cocoa powder and brown sugar in a another bowl. Evenly distribute this mixture over the baking dish’s batter.
Pour in some hot water.
- Pour the hot water over the entire dish very carefully. When the cobbler bakes, this will produce a sauce underneath it; do not stir.
Cook:
- A toothpick inserted in the center should come out mainly clean after baking for 30 to 35 minutes, giving the top time to set (a few damp crumbs are good).
Serve:
- To serve, let it cool somewhat. This meal tastes best served warm, and it goes very well with whipped cream or a dollop of vanilla ice cream.
Have fun!
