Crockpot French Onion Meatloaf with Melted Swiss Cheese
Parts and pieces:
- 2 kg of ground beef;
- 1.25 cups of breadcrumbs
- grated Parmesan cheese equaling half a cup
- 14 ounces of milk
- Two eggs
- Worcestershire sauce, one tablespoon amount
- One milligram of salt
- Black pepper, one-half of a teaspoon
- A pair of big onions, cut very thinly
- Butter, two tablespoons’ size
- 10 ounces of beef broth
- Eight pieces of Swiss cheese
Details to follow:
- To make the ground beef mixture, put the following ingredients in a big bowl: breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. After thoroughly combining, mix.
- Making a loaf out of the beef mixture and placing it in the slow cooker is the next step.
- Butter should be melted in a skillet over medium heat, and then chopped onions should be added. Cook for around twenty to twenty-five minutes, or until the sugars have caramelized.
- To the onions, add beef stock, and continue to simmer until all of the liquid has been absorbed. Layer the meatloaf in the slow cooker with the onions that have been caramelized.
- To ensure that the meatloaf is cooked all the way through, cook it on low for six to eight hours.
- It is recommended that Swiss cheese be melted and placed on top of the meatloaf approximately ten minutes before it is served.
Enjoy while it’s still hot!
