Components
Regarding the Cake:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) softened unsalted butter
- Two cups of powdered sugar

Guidelines
1. Turn on the oven:
- Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Coat two 9-inch round cake pans or a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter and flour.
2. Cream Sugar and Butter:
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing basin until light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
3. Include vanilla and eggs:
- One egg at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and stir.
4. Mix the dry ingredients together:
- Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a another basin.
5. Blend the Dry and Wet Ingredients:
- Alternately add the milk and the dry ingredients to the butter mixture gradually. With the dry ingredients, start and finish. Blend until barely mixed.
6. Cook:
- After filling the pan or pans, level the tops with the batter. In case of circular pans, bake for 30-35 minutes, and for a 9×13 pan, bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Stylish:
- After letting the cake set in the pan for ten to fifteen minutes, turn it out onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
8. Prepare the optional glaze:
- Mix the milk, vanilla essence, and powdered sugar in a small bowl until well combined. If desired, drizzle over the cooled cake.
