JAMAICAN BANANA BREAD
Components:
Ingredients that are dry:
- a quarter cup all-purpose flour
- One tsp baking soda
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- one tsp finely ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp finely ground nutmeg
Moist ingredients:
- three ripe, mashed bananas
- ½ cup softened unsalted butter
- Half a cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- Two big eggs
- One tsp vanilla essence
- One tablespoon of optional rum
Optional add-ons:
- ½ cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
- ½ cup of raisins or dried fruit (such as pineapple or coconut)
Guidelines:
- Set the Oven’s Temperature to 350°F (175°C). Oil a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Using a whisk, mix flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a bowl. Put aside.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate dish, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until smooth. Mix thoroughly after adding the mashed bananas, eggs, vanilla essence, and rum (if using).
- Mixing Mixtures: Stir just until incorporated as you gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Don’t mix too much. Stir in nuts or dried fruit, if using.
- Pour into Pan: Evenly spread the batter throughout the loaf pan that has been ready.
- In order to ensure that a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, bake for 60 to 70 minutes. Cover the top lightly with aluminum foil if it browns too rapidly.
- Cool: After letting the bread cool in the pan for roughly ten minutes, move it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
