KFC Coleslaw Recipe
Components
Regarding the Slaw:
- Four cups of finely shredded green cabbage
- One cup of shredded carrots
- 1/4 cup finely shredded purple cabbage (optional)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions (optional)
Regarding the Dressing:
- one-half cup mayonnaise
- one-fourth cup buttermilk
- One spoonful of vinegar made from apple cider
- One tablespoon of lemon juice
- One spoonful of sugar, granulated
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Guidelines
Get the veggies ready:
- Combine the carrots, purple cabbage (if using), and green cabbage in a big bowl. Mix by tossing.
Prepare the Dressing:
- Mix the mayonnaise, buttermilk, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper in a another bowl until everything is thoroughly blended and smooth.
Mix:
- Once all of the vegetables are completely coated, pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss again.
Relax:
- To ensure the coleslaw gets crunchy and the flavors combine, cover and chill for at least two hours, or overnight.
Serve:
- To serve, give it a good stir. Savor your homemade coleslaw, a la KFC!
Advice:
- Add a handful of chopped nuts or sunflower seeds for extra crunch.
- To suit your taste, add more or less sugar to change the sweetness.
