Margherita Pizza (Triangle-Shaped Slices)
Create authentic Italian-style pizza slices in the comfort of your own home, courtesy of your air fryer!
Yields: 4 servings
Points: Approximately 4 points per serving
1 serving = 2 triangle slices
Ingredients:
- 1 whole wheat pizza crust (about 6-inch crust)
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (low-sodium)
- 1/2 cup shredded reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat air fryer : Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare pizza crust: Place the whole wheat pizza crust on a round pizza stone or baking sheet.
Spread marinara sauce: Evenly spread the marinara sauce over the entire pizza crust.
Add cheese: Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust turns golden and the cheese is bubbling and melted.
Garnish: Once out of the oven, sprinkle fresh basil over the pizza and drizzle with olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Slice into triangles: Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to slice the round pizza into triangle-shaped slices. Start by cutting the pizza in half, then in quarters, and then into eighths (like cutting a pie).
Serve: Serve each person 2 triangle slices and enjoy!
