PASTA SHELLS WITH GROUND BEEF

PASTA SHELLS WITH GROUND BEEF

Components:

  1. Large 12 oz pasta shells
  2. One pound of ground beef
  3. one medium onion, chopped
  4. two minced garlic cloves
  5. One 14-oz can of crushed tomatoes
  6. One 8-oz can of tomato sauce
  7. One teaspoon of dried oregano
  8. One teaspoon of dried basil
  9. Half a teaspoon of salt
  10. 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  11. Half a cup of ricotta
  12. One cup of finely shredded mozzarella cheese
  13. Grated Parmesan cheese, half a cup
  14. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil (optional).

Guidelines:

Prepare the pasta:

  • Heat a big saucepan of salted water till it boils. Pasta shells should be cooked as directed on the package until they are al dente. After draining, set away.

Get the meat sauce ready.

  • Brown the ground beef over medium heat in a large skillet. Eliminate extra fat.
  • Garlic and chopped onion should be added to the skillet. The onion should be sautéed until transparent.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper and stir. Simmer for ten minutes or so.

Fill the Shells:

  • Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine half of the mozzarella and half of the Parmesan cheese in a bowl with the ricotta cheese. Add pepper and salt for seasoning.
  • Spoon the ricotta mixture into each cooked pasta shell and transfer to a baking tray coated with cooking spray.

Put the Casserole Together:

  • Cover the packed shells completely with the meat sauce as you pour it on.
  • Top with the remaining Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.

Cook:

  • Bake the dish for 20 minutes with the foil covering it. After that, take off the foil and bake the cheese for a further 10 to 15 minutes, or until it becomes brown and bubbling.

Serve:

  • After a few minutes of cooling, garnish with basil or fresh parsley, if preferred. Warm up and serve!

Advice:

  • For added nourishment, you can mix in cooked spinach or other vegetables with the ricotta mixture.
  • This dish can be prepared in advance and chilled before baking; if baking from cold, bake for a longer period of time.
