Ingredients:

  1. 120g (2 1/2 cups) Kelloggs Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, plus extra, to serve
  2. 4 eggs
  3. 80ml (1/3 cup) milk
  4. 1 tbsp caster sugar
  5. 8 slices white bread
  6. Honey, to drizzle
  7. Whipped cream or ice-cream, to serve.

Directions:

  1. Use baking paper to line the air fryer basket’s base. Using clean hands, gently crush the 120g (2 1/2 cups) of Kelloggs Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, plus extra, until finely crushed.
  2. In a small dish, whisk together the 4 eggs, 80ml (or 1/3 cup) milk, and 1 tbsp caster sugar until thoroughly mixed. After dipping two of the eight white bread pieces in the egg mixture, give them a minute to soak. After a minute, flip and continue to soak. Let any extra to fall back into the bowl and then push one side into the cornflakes to coat each one at a time. Arrange with the cornflakes facing up in the air fryer basket.
  3. After 4 minutes of cooking at 180°C, move to a serving platter. Continue with the remaining bread, beaten egg, and cornflakes.
  4. After slicing the french toast in half, drizzle with honey. Garnish with more cornflakes and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

Tips:

  • Use Thick Bread Slices: To guarantee that your French toast has a substantial and fluffy texture, choose thick bread slices, such as challah or brioche.
Heat the Air Fryer: Before cooking, preheat your air fryer to make sure it’s nice and hot for the French toast. This contributes to the crispy outside texture.
  • Spray or Brush with Oil: To keep the French toast from sticking and to encourage uniform browning, lightly spray or brush the air fryer’s basket with oil.
  • Avoid Sowing the Bread Too Long: Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture for a short while, since this will prevent the French toast from becoming soggy. It only takes a few seconds on each side to plunge.
  • Apply Crushed Nut Coat: To make sure the crushed nuts stick, press them firmly onto the bread slices. Your French toast will have a wonderfully crunchy texture as a result.
  • Place in a Single Layer: Place the coated bread slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer, being careful not to overlap. This facilitates even cooking and appropriate air movement.
  • Keep an eye on Cooking Period: Keep an eye on the French toast as it cooks in the air fryer, as cooking times can vary depending on the model and thickness of the bread slices. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning.
