Air-fryer banana bread
You can add chocolate chips and pecans, or any other nuts you like, to give this classic a taste boost. For simplicity, prepare this in the air fryer.
Ingredients:
- 150ml of vegetable or sunflower oil plus additional for the tin
- 150 grammes of caster sugar
- 150 grammes of flour with self-rising
- One teaspoon of baking powder
- two eggs
- Two overripe bananas
- 50g chopped pecans (optional)
- 50g chocolate chips, if desired
Directions:
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Give your air fryer a five-minute warmup period at 320°F (160°C).
- Get the batter ready:
Using a fork, mash the ripe bananas in a mixing dish until they are smooth. - To the mashed bananas, add the melted butter, egg, granulated sugar, and vanilla essence. Mix thoroughly until fully incorporated.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate basin.
- Blend Wet and Dry Ingredients: Stir the dry ingredients into the banana mixture gradually until they are well combined. Take cautious not to blend too much.
- Fold in extra ingredients, such as chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit, if preferred.
- Get the pan ready:
Use cooking spray or a little butter to grease a small loaf pan that fits inside the basket of your air fryer. - Bake in the Air Fryer:
Using a spatula, level the top of the loaf pan after adding the banana bread batter.
In the basket of the preheated air fryer, place the loaf pan.
- Air Fry the Banana Bread:
A toothpick placed into the centre of the banana bread should come out clean after 20 to 25 minutes of cooking it at 320°F (160°C) in the air fryer.
For even baking, you might want to turn the pan halfway through cooking.
Chill and Present:
After the banana bread has finished cooking, carefully take the loaf pan out of the air fryer and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
Before slicing and serving, move the banana bread to a wire rack to cool fully.
