  • Onion cut-side down should be placed. Cut downward all the way to the cutting board, starting approximately 1/2 inch from the root.
  • Make four slices around the onion, evenly spaced, by repeating. Once you have 16 cuts that are uniformly spaced, make 3 more cuts in between each part.
  • After flipping the onion over, let it for five minutes so the petals may unwind.
  • Use your fingers to carefully separate the outer parts before breading.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, cayenne, cumin, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper. Whisk together the eggs, milk, and water in a medium-deep bowl.
  1. Two and a half cups all-purpose flour
  2. one tablespoon each of paprika and cayenne pepper
  3. one teaspoon each of ground cumin
  4. one teaspoon each of dried thyme and dried oregano,
  5. two big eggs
  6. one cup each of milk and water
  7. To taste, add salt and pepper.
  • Transfer the onion, cut-side up, to a clean bowl and cover with the flour mixture. Apply the flour mixture to the onion using a big spoon, making sure to get in between the onion petals. After flipping the onion over, remove any remaining flour. Keep the flour bowl aside.
  • Coat the onion evenly after adding it to the egg mixture. Take out and allow any extra to fall off.
  • After that, return the onion to the flour mixture that was set aside and continue flouring. Make sure any excess flour is gently tapped off. When you’re done, there will be flour remaining in the bowl.
  • The onion should be refrigerated.
  • Set the air fryer’s temperature to 350ºF for ten minutes.
  • Take the onion out of the fridge and liberally mist it with vegetable oil using a spray bottle. Spray bottle filled with oil.
  • Once an aluminium foil sling has been made, place the onion, cut side up, within the fryer basket.
  • Cook after setting the timer for 25 minutes. As the onion cooks, spray it two or three times with cooking oil. If there are any areas where flour is still visible, mist them with oil.
  • Using the aluminium foil sling, extract the onion after 25 minutes, and then season with salt & pepper.
  • Enjoy; Accompany with the onion dip.
