AIR FRYER CROISSANT SANDWICHES WITH PESTO AND HAVARTI

AIR FRYER CROISSANT SANDWICHES WITH PESTO AND HAVARTI These sandwiches made with air-fried croissants are rich, crispy, cheesy, and simple to prepare. In less than four minutes, this simple recipe’s flaky croissants get incredibly crispy as the mild Havarti cheese melts in the air fryer.

INGREDIENTS FOR AIR FRYER CROISSANT SANDWICHES WITH PESTO AND HAVARTI:

  • Two large croissants
  • Two tablespoons each of mayonnaise and pesto
  • 80 grams of sliced Havarti cheese
  • Black pepper, pickled onions, and shredded lettuce (to serve)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AIR FRYER CROISSANT SANDWICHES WITH PESTO AND HAVARTI:

  • In a small bowl, combine the pesto and mayo.
  • Segment the croissants lengthwise in half.
  • On each of the croissants’ sliced sides, spread pesto mayo.
  • On one half of the croissant, spread the cheese.
  • Arrange the croissants on a tray or basket for an air fryer. (The two trays in my air fryer).
  • Fry for three to four minutes at 350°F. I air fried for two minutes on each of the two trays that are included in my air fryer, then switch them around. Then, depending on how long the top croissant needs to toast, I air fried it for another one to two minutes.
  • When the croissants are done, transfer them gently to a platter or cutting board. They’re going to be really warm.
  • Sprinkle some black pepper on the cheese. Add the pickled onion and lettuce. Once the sandwich is assembled, top with the croissant and serve.

Remarks

  • Set the air fryer at a high temperature so that the cheese melts and the croissant begins to crisp.
  • To guarantee melting of the cheese throughout the 3–4 minute cooking time, use thinly sliced or finely shredded cheese.
  • For the cheese to melt, toast the croissant with its face open, not closed.
  • Keep an eye out—croissants in the air fryer crisp up in a couple of minutes.
  • After two minutes, rotate the top and bottom trays in an air fryer that uses trays for optimal results. This will assist you in getting the croissants to crisp evenly.
  • Making two sandwiches at once is made simpler with an air fryer that is tray-style. Making sandwiches in batches is necessary if you’re using an air fryer with a basket.
  • Swap up the pesto for your favourite spread, such as mayo or Dijon mustard, to personalise the sandwich. Try your favourite fillings, such as cucumbers or freshly sliced tomatoes.
  • Top these sandwiches with a fried egg or scrambled eggs to make them into croissant breakfast sandwiches.
