Ingredients:
- 1 to 1.25 pounds of skinless, boneless chicken breasts or thighs
- ⅔ cup sauce teriyaki
- Chopped scallions—a garnish that is optional
- Add sesame seeds as a garnish if desired.
Directions:
- After the chicken is ready, cut it into 1-1.5-inch pieces and place it in a medium bowl after patting it dry with a fresh paper towel.
- Coat the chicken: Cover the chicken with teriyaki sauce, tossing to ensure it is well coated. The chicken should marinade for at least thirty minutes and up to an hour under cover. Please take note: if the chicken is marinating for longer than half an hour, refrigerate it.
- Cook: Set the air fryer’s temperature to 400°F and mist its basket with non-aerosol cooking spray. Place the chicken in a single layer within the air fryer basket and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Serve: Take the chicken out of the air fryer as soon as it’s finished cooking, and if you’d like, garnish it right away with sesame seeds and scallions.
Notes:
- You can use either chicken breast or chicken thighs. As chicken breasts cook a little quicker than chicken thighs, make sure to check on them after around 8 to 10 minutes and continue cooking if necessary.
- Store-bought or homemade teriyaki sauce will work just fine.
- Remaining food can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days if it is sealed tightly. Reheat in the microwave or air fryer until well heated.
