Air Fryer El Pollo Loco Chicken (Copycat)

Air Fryer El Pollo Loco Chicken (Copycat)

One of my favorite chicken dishes is this one, though you might be wondering why the chicken looks yellow if you haven’t been to an El Pollo Loco restaurant. I’ll demonstrate how to create an El Pollo Loco Chicken (Copycat) in the air fryer today.

Knowing how much I enjoy a delicious piece of chicken, my friend took me to an El Pollo Loco when I got the chance to go to California on vacation last year. I’m happy to report that I had a delicious dinner, and as everyone enjoys a wonderful piece of chicken, I’ve added this dish to my list of things to make in my air fryer.

I looked up what constitutes a knockoff El Pollo chicken today and discovered one decided to give the dish go in my air fryer. The outcome is evident; you receive an amazing and delectable portion of chicken or an entire bird.

Remarks Regarding This Recipe:

  • Since yellow food coloring was used in the original copycat recipe, did not include it in the recipe.
  • Since was preparing this meal for my family and really didn’t want to give them yellow food coloring, skipped it.
  • The size of your chicken and the kind of air fryer you’re using will determine how long the chicken takes to air fried.
  • For assurance that your chicken is cooked through, use meat thermometer at all times.

Components

  1. El Pollo Chicken Marinade, 3–4 pound chicken:
  2. One tablespoon of vinegar (white)
  3. two tsp finely chopped garlic
  4. One tsp salt
  5. One teaspoon of oregano
  6. half a teaspoon of black pepper, ground
  7. 1/4 cup chopped and seeded jalapeño peppers
  8. One cup of pineapple juice
  9. one-fourth cup lime juice
  10. One tablespoon of vegetable oil

Guidelines

  • Combine the white vinegar, garlic, lime juice, pineapple juice, black pepper, oregano, salt, and vegetable oil in a big bowl. Blend thoroughly.
  • After adding the chicken to the marinade, cover and refrigerate for eight to ten hours.
  • For 30 minutes, set the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn the chicken after 30 minutes and continue air-frying it for a further 15 to 25 minutes.
