AIR FRYER JELLY DONUTS

AIR FRYER JELLY DONUTS

Recipe By: Samantha

Donuts cooked in an air fryer using packaged biscuits and raspberry jelly with just four ingredients.

With an air fryer, indulging a sweet tooth is never a problem. You may prepare nutritious dishes like grilled chicken breasts and carrots, but you can also treat yourself to some really sugary sweets, like these jelly donuts made in an air fryer.

PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME:5 minutes
ADDITIONAL TIME: 5 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 15 Mints
Ingredients:
  1. Pillsbury Grands (Homestyle) in one package
  2. Half a cup of seedless raspberry jam
  3. One tablespoon of melted butter
  4. half a cup of sugar

Directions:

  1. Set air fryer temperature to 350 degrees. Squirt oil spray into the basket.
  2. Break open the biscuit tube and place the biscuits in the air fryer basket in a single layer, allowing air to circulate between each one. You might have to work in groups.
  3. Give the biscuits a little mist of oil spray.
  4. Fry in the air for 5–6 minutes, or until browned.
  5. Add the jelly to a piping bag fitted with a long tip, like a Bismarck tip, and pipe while the donuts are cooking.
  6. Take the biscuits out of the basket of the air fryer and rapidly dip them into the melted butter.
  7. Coat the biscuit doughnuts by tossing them in sugar.
  8. Squeeze the filling into the donut by inserting the piping bag’s tip into its centre.

NOTES:

  • For this recipe, you can use any type of biscuit dough.
  • Although the buttermilk biscuits are easier to stuff because they don’t break as easily, we still favour the flavour and texture of the flaky layers biscuits.
  • Jelly: To make pipetting easier, look for jelly (made with fruit juices) rather than jam (made with fruit chunks). Use whichever jelly flavour you choose.
  • Topping: Using a pastry brush, spread melted butter over the donuts and then sprinkle with sugar for a healthy option. Although dunking in butter and sugar is delightful, it does result in a thick sugar coating and increases the amount of fat and calories significantly.

JELLY DONUTS USE WHICH KIND OF JELLY?
Traditionally, raspberry jelly without seeds is used to fill jelly donuts. It’s the ideal fruit filling for decadent, sweet donuts.

You may make your own (be sure to drain out all the raspberry seeds!) or get it directly from the supermarket.

You can vary the flavour by using your preferred seedless jam, such as strawberry! You could even pipe them with custard, like a novel take on Boston Cream.
