Air fryer Scotch eggs

Air fryer Scotch eggs A classic British cuisine, scotch eggs are frequently eaten as a snack or at gatherings, bars, and picnics. These have a hard-boiled egg covered in breadcrumbs and minced meat (in our case, chicken sausages). Although the classic recipes call for deep-frying them, we’ve updated them with the ever-favorable air fryer to make them slightly healthier for you.

Components (6)

  1. 600g sausages made from chicken
  2. 1 tablespoon mixed Italian herbs
  3. Six hard-boiled eggs
  4. Two lightly whisked eggs
  5. 3/4 cup (75g) of dried breadcrumbs
  6. Serve tomato chutney.

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Take out and discard the sausage . In a medium-sized bowl, add the 600g chicken sausage mince and herb mix; stir to thoroughly blend. Evenly divide the mixture into six parts.

Step 2: Flatten the mince mixture into a thin circular, working with one component at a time. Six hard-boiled eggs should be placed in the center of the mince mixture. The mince should be shaped to completely contain the egg. Continue with the remaining hard-boiled eggs and mince mixture.

Step 3: Transfer two lightly whisked eggs into a shallow basin. In a shallow dish, put 75g (3/4 cup) of dried breadcrumbs. Coat balls by dipping them first in beaten egg and then in breadcrumbs.

Step 4: Apply oil to the air fryer basket. Put the eggs in the basket and liberally mist with oil. Cook for 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius, flipping and misting eggs with oil halfway through. Accompany with Tomato Chutney for serving.
