INGREDIENTS

  1. 1-1.5 pounds of bite-sized pieces of chicken thighs or breasts
  2. One tablespoon each of salt, pepper, and cornstarch
  3. One teaspoon of soy sauce
  4. 1 tablespoon melted butter
  5. 1-tsp finely chopped garlic
  6. Five tablespoons of honey
  7. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar and 1/4 cup chicken broth
  8. One tablespoon of soy sauce
  9. One teaspoon of chili powder

Topping:

  1. 1/2 teaspoon pepper-sesame seeds, optional
  2. chopped green onions, if desired

Instructions

  • Combine the diced chicken, cornstarch, one teaspoon each of salt, pepper, and soy sauce in a bowl. Toss to ensure that the meat is evenly coated.
  • For five minutes, preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees.
  • After applying nonstick spray to the basket, transfer the covered chicken inside. Cook, rotating after 4 minutes, for about 8 minutes, or until the center of the largest piece is no longer pink.
  • Combine the remaining ingredients mentioned under the sauce above in a small saucepan.
  • Add the cooked chicken to the pot after whisking the sauce and heating it until it bubbles. Allow to thicken and bubble for around two minutes, stirring to coat nicely. If you’d like, you may mix everything together and reheat it in the microwave, but the sauce won’t be as thick.
  • Put on top of rice.
