Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

Quick and tasty, these air-fried chicken thighs are prepared in only a few minutes! You may use boneless or bone-in thighs with just a little oil and a basic spice rub. This recipe is minimal in carbohydrates and gluten.

Ingredients:

  1. 4 chicken thighs (see note 1), either skin-on or bone-in.apply oil rub
  2. 1 teaspoon each of onion and garlic powders
  3. ½ teaspoon each of paprika and pepper (optional; may be a little spicy for young children)
  4. 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp thyme leaves

Guidelines

Skinless, Boneless Thighs

  • Arrange the chicken thighs onto a dish. Apply spray oil on both sides.
  • Combine the rub and coat the chicken with it. To ensure perfect adhesion, press it on with your hands, flip the thighs, and continue on the opposite side.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200°C/390°F.
  • Make sure the chicken thighs are spread out and not curled up before placing two of them in the air fryer’s bask (see to point 2). Simmer for four minutes.
  • After 4 minutes, flip the food, and continue cooking until a digital thermometer inserted into the thickest area reaches 165°F.
  • Before serving, take the chicken out of the air fryer, cover it, and let it rest for five minutes.

Skin-On, Bone-In Thighs

  • Arrange the chicken thighs onto a dish. Apply spray oil on both sides.
  • Combine the rub and coat the chicken with it. To ensure perfect adhesion, press it on with your hands, flip the thighs, and continue on the opposite side.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200°C/390°F.
  • (Deeply optional) Tumble two pieces of bread under the basket in the air fryer’s bottom (see to note 3).
  • Spread out the four chicken thighs as much as you can while placing them in the basket. Simmer for fifteen minutes.
  • After carefully turning the chicken over, cook it for a further 8 to 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (see note 4).
  • Before serving, take the chicken out of the air fryer and allow it to rest for five minutes, covered.

Notes

  • 1- about 1 pound of skinless, boneless chicken thighs, or around 1.5 pounds of skin-on, bone-in chicken thighs.
  • 2. You will need to work in batches because a standard-sized basket air fryer can only fit two spread-out chicken thighs at a time. A complete batch can fit in larger oven-style or basket air fryers.
  • 3. By absorbing the grease from the chicken thighs, the bread lessens the amount of smoke that arises during cooking.
  • 4-We discovered that the chicken was a touch underdone in the area closest to the bone and that the top was not as crispy as we would have liked when it was cooked to 165°F. We found that 185–190 was a better outcome, but feel free to experiment to acquire the ideal chicken thighs!
