Fluffy Potato Dinner Rolls
ingredients
- Two teaspoons sugar,
- melted into 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- Mashed potatoes: 1 cup (about 2 medium potatoes)
- half a cup heated milk
- One packet of 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- Four cups of all-purpose flour
- One tsp salt
- One large egg, whisked (to make egg wash)
SETTLEMENT:
- To activate the yeast, put the sugar, melted butter, warm milk, and yeast in a large mixing basin. Let it sit for five to ten minutes, or until the yeast starts to foam.
- Incorporate Potatoes: Fully combine the yeast mixture with the mashed potatoes.
- Mix Flour and Salt: Stir the mixture while gradually adding the flour and salt until a dough forms.
- Knead dough: Place dough on a surface dusted with flour; knead until dough is smooth and elastic, 5 to 7 minutes.
- First Getting Up: Put the dough inside.
- place it in a greased basin, cover it with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise for one to two hours, or until it has doubled in size.
- Shape Rolls: Pinch down the dough and separate into parts that are the same size. Each part should be formed into a ball and placed with some space between them in a baking pan that has been buttered.
- Second Rise: After the rolls have doubled in size, continue to cover and let them rise for a further 30 to 45 minutes.
- Oven Prep: Set the oven’s temperature to 375°F, or 190°C.
- Apply Egg Wash: Lightly brush the tops of the rolls with a mixture of beaten egg wash.
- Have fun!
