Air Fryer Jalapeno Cheddar Quick Bread

Air Fryer Jalapeno Cheddar Quick Bread

Air Fryer Jalapeno Cheddar Quick Bread is one of the best BBQ side dishes that you will be serving up this summer! Made with rich cheddar, sliced jalapenos, this is surely a dish that will wow your guests! It is truly amazing!

Expert Advice

  • Modify the Spicy Level: The jalapeño peppers determine how spicy the bread is. By using more or fewer peppers and varying the quantity of seeds and membranes, you may customize the heat. If you want softer bread, remove the seeds and white membranes; if you want hotter kick, leave them in.
  • Use fresh jalapenos: They will have the best flavor and texture when they are fresh. Choose green peppers that are firm, bright, and free of wrinkly or squishy patches.
  • Don’t Overmix: Take care not to overmix the batter while adding the wet and dry components. Stir just until incorporated; overmixing can result in harsher texture. It’s acceptable to have few lumps.
  • Grease the Pan: To avoid sticking, make sure the baking pan or dish that is safe for an air fryer is well greased. Cooking spray or a tiny bit of oil will work.
  • Modify Cooking Time: Depending on the size and model of your air fryer, cooking times may change. Keep an eye on the bread in the final few minutes of cooking to make sure it doesn’t burn or overcook.
  • Let Cool Before Slicing: Before moving the Jalapeño Cheddar Quick Bread to a wire rack to cool entirely, let it sit in the pan for a few minutes. When you cut it, this helps keep it from crumbling apart.
  • Serving Suggestions: Although this bread is excellent on its own, you may bring out the flavors by pairing it with some butter, cream cheese, or a Dip sauce, such as ranch dressing.
  • Personalize with Herbs: To enhance taste and freshness, feel free to add herbs like parsley or fresh cilantro. Before baking, the batter can be combined with chopped herbs.

Components

  1. Two cups of all-purpose flour
  2. four tsp powdered baking powder
  3. One spoonful of sugar, granulated
  4. one tsp powdered garlic
  5. Half a teaspoon of powdered onion
  6. Half a teaspoon of kosher salt
  7. Shredded cheddar cheese, 3/4 cup
  8. Two huge jalapeño peppers,
  9. one chopped and the other minced (seed removed)
  10. Three tablespoons of melted, unsalted butter
  11. One big egg
  12. one cup of milk

Guidelines

  • Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt together in a big mixing basin.
  • Save the sliced jalapenos and stir in the minced jalapeño and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • In an individual bowl, beat the egg, butter, and milk until thoroughly mixed.
  • After adding the butter mixture to the flour mixture, whisk just until combined.
  • Evenly distribute the batter among your loaf pans.
  • Garnish the tops of the loaves with sliced jalapeños.
  • Cook the bread at 320 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes, or until it’s cooked through, using the air fryer option. (Tip: After about 12 minutes, check the underside of the loaves; if they’re not cooked through, flip them within the pan and continue cooking for a few more minutes.) Let the loaves cool for ten to fifteen minutes before slicing.
  • Arrange, present, and savor!

  5. 8 slices white bread
  6. Honey, to drizzle

  2. In a small dish, whisk together the 4 eggs, 80ml (or 1/3 cup) milk, and 1 tbsp caster sugar until thoroughly mixed. After dipping two of the eight white bread pieces in the egg mixture, give them a minute to soak. After a minute, flip and continue to soak. Let any extra to fall back into the bowl and then push one side into the cornflakes to coat each one at a time. Arrange with the cornflakes facing up in the air fryer basket.
  3. After 4 minutes of cooking at 180°C, move to a serving platter. Continue with the remaining bread, beaten egg, and cornflakes.
  4. After slicing the french toast in half, drizzle with honey. Garnish with more cornflakes and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

Tips:

  • Use Thick Bread Slices: To guarantee that your French toast has a substantial and fluffy texture, choose thick bread slices, such as challah or brioche.
Heat the Air Fryer: Before cooking, preheat your air fryer to make sure it’s nice and hot for the French toast. This contributes to the crispy outside texture.
  • Spray or Brush with Oil: To keep the French toast from sticking and to encourage uniform browning, lightly spray or brush the air fryer’s basket with oil.
  • Avoid Sowing the Bread Too Long: Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture for a short while, since this will prevent the French toast from becoming soggy. It only takes a few seconds on each side to plunge.
  • Apply Crushed Nut Coat: To make sure the crushed nuts stick, press them firmly onto the bread slices. Your French toast will have a wonderfully crunchy texture as a result.
  • Place in a Single Layer: Place the coated bread slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer, being careful not to overlap. This facilitates even cooking and appropriate air movement.
  • Keep an eye on Cooking Period: Keep an eye on the French toast as it cooks in the air fryer, as cooking times can vary depending on the model and thickness of the bread slices. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning.

  • Use Parchment Paper: You may want to use liners made especially for air fryers to keep the rolls from adhering to the basket and to make cleanup simpler.
  • Watch Out for Them: Air fryer models can differ in terms of cooking times. To make sure they don’t overcook, it’s a good idea to check a minute or two before the suggested cooking time.
  • Tailor Fillings: Although cinnamon sugar is a classic, for a twist, try adding some finely chopped almonds, nutmeg, or even a little dollop of fruit jam.
  • The frosting over Top: For extra sweetness, drizzle a simple glaze made with powdered sugar, vanilla flavor, and a small amount of milk over the top.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container if you have any (which is rare!). To bring back the flakiness, you can reheat them in the air fryer for a minute or two.
  • Fresh Dough: For optimal results, always use freshly made crescent roll dough. The can’s expiration date is important!
  • Add-Ins: If you enjoy raisins, you might want to sprinkle some on the greased dough before rolling.
  • Watch the Heat: To avoid burning, lower the temperature of your air fryer by 25°F and keep a close eye on the cooking process if it tends to run hot.
